Introduction from the new volunteers

Hello everybody!

We are Ricardo and Marina, the new volunteers from AFYA who will be working in Msitu Wa Tembo during the month of June  to carry out part of TATU’s summer program.

Ricardo is from Malaga and he is a 5th year medicine student at the Autonomous University of Madrid. I, Marina, am from Santander and I am a 1^st year biology student at the same university.

We have been preparing ourselves, fundraising and scheduling activities with AFYA during several months. Now we are finally on the field, and we would like to introduce ourselves and open a communication thread to keep you up to date with our weekly work here.

So far, the selling of TATU T-Shirts - 826€ raised!!,  and organizing benefit concerts - 150€ raised so far!! (Congratulations to Elena Piqueras, medicine student who will also volunteer with TATU in august) have filled a huge part of our budget. 

We have an ongoing crowdfunding campaign where you can find  in detail everything about our work in summer . PLEASE VISIT IT AND GIVE IT A SHARE!!

This morning we met Tariq, the local coordinator of the AFYA Project, and tomorrow first time in the morning we will have our first official meeting. We will keep you informed of what’s going on through this page.
