Hello Marina again!
After our first week of work, we
want to update you about the activities we have developed.
During Monday and Tuesday we had
the oficial introductions to the house with Paula (coordinator of “we grow”),
as well as the TATU Project’s and AFYA’s presentations with Daniella (one of
the creatores of the ngo) and Tariq ( part of the Afya team here in Moshi).

We started working on the
planning for our work during this month, and we started reading all the
documents related to the caravan, the home based care outreach and the survey of last years
in order to prepare our first meetings.
On Wednesday, it was our first
day at the community of Msitu wa Tembo, we travelled there with Tariq to
introduce ourselves and start to open ways of communication with our work
partners.
We visited the dispensary and we
met Verónica, the nurse and coordinator of the home based care program, we also met Mama
Rasiki, the doctor of the village, and we visited the chairman of Londoto., the other place, apart from Msitu wa Tembo, where we work.
Thursday was a busy day. We join Dr. Jackson
and Benjee, workers of Pamoja Tunawesa, ngo which collaborate with us in the
medical caravan, in order to schedule the fisrt details of it. After that we
had a talk with Daniela and we prepare our skype with Iago, coordinator of the
medical Project.
Finally on Friday we visited
again the community to attend one of Jen’s seminaries with the Nina Jali’s
group, there we were able to talked to the community health workers about the
pilot of the survey that they have done.

This is all, next week we are
going to have a lot of work with the preparation of the caravan, we will keep
you update of everything.
